Battlegrounds Mobile India: An Official Launch

After months of anticipation, Battlegrounds Mobile India, the India-exclusive version of PUBG Mobile, has been officially announced by Krafton Inc.

Features and Game Modes

Battlegrounds Mobile India is expected to mirror the gameplay of PUBG Mobile, offering familiar game modes like battle royale, team deathmatch, war, and more. Players can also anticipate encountering popular maps such as Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, and Vikendi.

Exclusive Events and Esports Ecosystem

The game will be available for pre-registration soon and will feature exclusive in-game events, outfits, and features. Additionally, Battlegrounds Mobile India will introduce its own esports ecosystem, complete with tournaments and leagues.

Restrictions for Minors

Despite being accessible to minors, Battlegrounds Mobile India comes with specific restrictions for players under 18 years old:

  • Minors must provide their parent or guardian’s phone number to play.
  • Gameplay for minors is limited to a maximum of 3 hours per day.
  • Spending within the game for minors is capped at ₹7,000 per day.

Age Verification Concerns

The verification process for age remains unclear, raising questions about how effectively these restrictions will be enforced. If age verification relies solely on self-reported details during registration, the efficacy of these measures may be compromised.

Release Date and Downloads

While the game has been officially announced, specific details such as the release date and download links are yet to be made available. Players eagerly await further updates on these aspects.

PUBG Mobile India Ban Timeline

PUBG Mobile faced a ban in September last year due to Tencent’s association with the game as a Chinese company. This ban was part of broader restrictions on Chinese apps and games amid India-China tensions.

Krafton Inc., the developers of PUBG Mobile, subsequently severed ties with Tencent, paving the way for the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India as a localized alternative.
