CoWIN Introduces Error Correction Feature for Vaccination Certificates

The CoWIN platform has unveiled a new feature that allows individuals to rectify inadvertent errors present in their vaccination certificates. Users can now make corrections related to their name, year of birth, and gender directly through the CoWIN website.

Simplified Correction Process

Announced by the government, this update aims to streamline the vaccination certificate process by enabling users to address any errors swiftly and efficiently. Previously, individuals faced challenges with incorrect details on their certificates, which could impact various activities like travel and accessing certain premises.

Aarogya Setu App Integration

The Aarogya Setu app, an integral part of India’s Covid-19 response, also shared information about this new feature. Users can initiate corrections directly through the CoWIN website, ensuring a seamless experience for individuals seeking to rectify their vaccination certificate details.

Voluntary Status Updates

In addition to the error correction feature, individuals who have received at least one dose of the vaccine can voluntarily update their vaccination status on the Aarogya Setu app. This self-assessment process allows users to reflect their current vaccination status, providing clarity and transparency in health-related information.

Visual Indicators for Vaccination Status

The Aarogya Setu app introduces visual indicators to signify vaccination status. Users with a single dose of the vaccine will see a single blue border alongside their vaccination status on the home screen, accompanied by the Aarogya Setu logo and a single tick.

Upon completing the full vaccination regimen, individuals will notice a ‘Blue Shield’ with a double tick on the app, indicating full vaccination status. This double tick appears after 14 days following the second dose, following verification from the CoWIN portal.

Updating Vaccination Status

To update vaccination status or correct errors on the certificate, individuals can use the mobile number registered with CoWIN. This streamlined process ensures that users have accurate and up-to-date information on their vaccination status, contributing to a more organized and efficient vaccination drive.
